ZEEKR Powers Thailand’s First Megawatt Charging Hub | Thailand Unveils First Megawatt EV Supercharging Station as ZEEKR, TPM Automotive and SINEXCEL Accelerate Southeast Asia’s Electric Mobility Transition
BANGKOK, Thailand, July 13, 2026 — Thailand has taken a significant step toward the future of electric mobility with the launch of its first megawatt-level electric vehicle (EV) supercharging station in Bangkok, a collaborative initiative by ZEEKR, TPM Automotive, and SINEXCEL. The milestone introduces megawatt charging technology to the country and supports the growing adoption of next-generation high-voltage electric vehicles across Southeast Asia.
The inauguration brought together representatives from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, charging network operators, technology providers, mobility partners, and members of the media, underscoring the importance of expanding high-performance charging infrastructure as electric vehicle adoption accelerates throughout the region.
Addressing the Next Challenge in EV Infrastructure
Thailand’s electric vehicle market is rapidly evolving, with 800-volt EVs now accounting for approximately 15% of new electric vehicle sales. However, charging infrastructure has struggled to keep pace with advancements in vehicle technology, creating limitations that affect both drivers and charging network operators.
Conventional public charging stations often require more than an hour to recharge high-voltage EVs, preventing drivers from fully utilizing the capabilities of next-generation electric vehicles. Existing charging systems also face challenges in dynamically distributing power among multiple vehicles while managing the heavy electrical loads associated with ultra-fast charging.
These constraints can reduce charging efficiency and place additional pressure on local power grids during periods of peak demand.
960kW Charging Platform Delivers Faster, Smarter Energy Distribution
To address these challenges, the three companies deployed SINEXCEL’s 960-kilowatt ultra-fast charging platform, engineered to support the latest generation of high-performance electric vehicles.
The installation features one 700-amp liquid-cooled supercharging dispenser alongside three 500-amp air-cooled fast-charging dispensers, enabling intelligent power distribution based on real-time vehicle demand.
During live demonstrations, two ZEEKR 7X electric vehicles were charged simultaneously, with battery levels increasing from 20% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes, demonstrating the capabilities of megawatt-level charging technology.
The intelligent charging architecture also achieves 97% power utilization, representing a 16% improvement over many conventional charging solutions while optimizing energy delivery across multiple vehicles.
Designed for Future EV Growth
The charging platform has been engineered to support the long-term evolution of Thailand’s electric vehicle ecosystem.
Its modular architecture allows charging capacity to expand from 960kW to 1,280kW by adding power modules as demand increases. The system also supports future upgrades to liquid-cooled charging terminals and the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard, ensuring compatibility with the next generation of commercial and passenger electric vehicles.
To further improve sustainability, the infrastructure is designed for integration with solar energy generation and battery energy storage systems, helping reduce pressure on the electrical grid while increasing charging capacity.
Building a Regional EV Charging Ecosystem
The project combines the strengths of three industry leaders to establish a scalable model for ultra-fast charging infrastructure in Southeast Asia.
ZEEKR contributes its advanced 800-volt electric vehicle platform, enabling ultra-fast charging capabilities for premium EVs. SINEXCEL, recognized for its expertise in megawatt charging technologies and power electronics, provides the high-capacity charging infrastructure, while TPM Automotive supports local deployment through its established automotive and mobility network in Thailand.
Together, the partners aim to demonstrate how close collaboration between vehicle manufacturers, charging technology providers, and local industry partners can accelerate the development of reliable, high-performance EV infrastructure across the region.
By validating an integrated “EV + Charger + Local Partner” ecosystem, the initiative establishes a practical blueprint for expanding Thailand’s nationwide supercharging network while supporting Southeast Asia’s transition toward cleaner transportation.
Looking ahead, SINEXCEL said it will continue working closely with ZEEKR, TPM Automotive, and other industry stakeholders to accelerate the rollout of ultra-fast charging infrastructure, enabling faster EV adoption and supporting the region’s long-term sustainability goals.
